Our story

Two friends. One dream. A kitchen full of heart.

Crave My Baking began with a friendship, a shared love of food, and a dream we never quite let go of.

2017 — where it began

It started long before the kitchen did

Our story started in 2017, when Joyce was completing part-time practical training at Frangelicas, where Cleo was working as a manager.

From the very beginning we connected effortlessly. We worked well together, laughed together, and quickly formed a friendship — never imagining that years later we would be building a business side by side.

Then life took us in different directions, and for a while we lost touch.

Finding our way back

One person came to mind: Cleo

Years later, Joyce's employer suggested she take baking lessons. There was only ever one person to call.

We reconnected, Cleo came through to teach, and those lessons quickly became something much more. We found ourselves back in the kitchen together — sharing ideas, learning, experimenting, and rediscovering just how much we enjoy creating food side by side.

And an old dream started coming back to life.

The dream we never let go of

A kosher kitchen of our own

Over the years we had often spoken about how incredible it would be to have our own kosher kitchen.

It was one of those dreams that always seemed slightly out of reach. Neither of us is religious, and we knew that creating a kitchen dedicated to serving the kosher community would come with its own challenges.

But we never completely let go of the idea. And then something happened that changed everything.

From our kitchen to your table

The opportunity

And then someone believed in us

Joyce's employer, Mr. Kahonovitz, approached us with an opportunity we had only ever talked about: to help us establish our own kosher kitchen at his home.

Not only did he believe in what we wanted to build, he supported us with the equipment and ingredients to get started. After years of hoping, the dream was suddenly real.

We were over the moon. And Crave My Baking was born.

Cleo (Zanny)

Baker & co-founder

Cleo was managing at Frangelicas when the two of us met, and she is the one Joyce called when the baking lessons started. Celebration cakes, decorating and the finishing touches are her end of the kitchen.

Joyce

Cook & co-founder

Joyce runs the savoury side and the biscuit tins — the family-size pastas, the soups by the litre, the trays that turn up looking like a proper occasion. If your order needs feeding a crowd, it goes through her.

How we cook

Made the way we would make it for our own families

For us, food is about far more than filling a plate. It is the cake on the table when you are celebrating. It is having something homemade ready when you have had a long day. Freshly baked biscuits with tea, soup on a cold evening, cupcakes for the kids, or a family meal you did not have to spend hours preparing.

That is exactly how we approach everything we make.

  • Kosher, properly

Everything is prepared in our kosher kitchen. It is not a line on a menu card — it is how the kitchen is set up and run.

  • Freshly made, or not at all

We bake and cook to your date. If we cannot make something properly in the time available, we will say so honestly rather than send out something we are not proud of.

  • Quality ingredients

Butter, eggs, good chocolate, real fruit. They cost more and they taste like it — which is the entire point.

  • Never just another order

We want you to order knowing that someone has genuinely cared about what is going onto your family's table.

A friendship that came full circle. A dream that refused to disappear. And the beginning of something we hope will grow into a much-loved part of the kosher community.
